Refund & Cancellation Policy

Your purchase of and payment for lessons shall be regulated by this Refund and Payment Policy.
PLEASE READ IT CAREFULLY BEFORE MAKING A PAYMENT, AS IT DETERMINES YOUR RIGHTS WITH REGARD TO YOUR PURCHASES, INCLUDING ESSENTIAL RESTRICTIONS AND EXCLUSIONS.
Tutamigo strives to ensure a clear understanding of the financial relationship between Students and Tutors with respect to the services we provide. This policy applies to all services and features made available through the Website and any related Tutamigo mobile device application (collectively, the "Tutamigo Platform"). Capitalized terms used and not defined herein shall have the respective meanings ascribed to them in the Tutamigo Terms of Service.
Payment Structure
Tutamigo acts as the merchant of record for all transactions on the platform. When a Student purchases a lesson package or subscription, they are purchasing tutoring session services from Tutamigo. All payments are collected by Tutamigo through its secure payment infrastructure. Tutors receive their service provider share of collected fees following lesson confirmation, as independent contractors. Tutors do not process or collect payments directly from Students. Tutamigo facilitates and oversees all payment collection and disbursement on the platform.
1. Satisfaction Guarantee (Trial Lessons)
At Tutamigo, we want to ensure you have the best learning experience. We offer a Satisfaction Guarantee specifically for your Trial Lesson.
If you are not satisfied with your trial lesson for any reason, let us know within 24 hours of the session. We will provide you with a free replacement session with a different tutor (up to 2 replacements allowed). Please note that we do not offer cash refunds for trial lessons; the guarantee ensures you find the right tutor through a replacement credit.
2. Cancellation & Rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both students and tutors. Instead of cash refunds, we issue Session Credits back to your Tutamigo balance, which can be used to rebook anytime.
- More than 12 hours before session: You can cancel or reschedule for free. You will receive a 100% Session Credit returned instantly to your account balance.
- Less than 12 hours before session: Cancellations made with less than 12 hours' notice are not eligible for a credit or refund. The tutor has reserved this time specifically for you, and late cancellations prevent them from booking other students.
- Credit Expiration: All session credits (including those from cancellations) expire 3 months from the original purchase date.
3. Tutor Cancellations
In the rare event that a tutor cancels a session, you will automatically receive a Full Session Credit back to your balance, regardless of the timing. We will also provide priority assistance in finding a replacement time or tutor.
4. Refund Processing (Billing Errors)
As Tutamigo operates primarily on a credit system for cancellations, monetary refunds to your bank account are generally only processed in cases of technical billing errors or accidental duplicate charges.
In such cases, refund requests are processed within 3–5 business days. Once processed, it may take an additional 5–10 business days for the funds to appear in your bank account, depending on your financial institution.
Tutamigo is not responsible for any fees charged by banks or third-party payment processors (including currency conversion fees, overdraft fees, or international transaction fees). These fees are collected by your financial institution and are non-refundable by Tutamigo.
5. Unused Package Refunds
If you have purchased a lesson package and wish to discontinue using the platform, you may request a refund for the unused portion of the package. The already used lessons will be calculated at the standard single-lesson rate (nullifying any bulk discount), and the remaining difference will be refunded to your original payment method.
6. Tutor Earnings & Payout Policy
To ensure a secure and reliable experience for all users, Tutors on Tutamigo agree to the following payment-related terms:
- Earnings Model: Tutors earn a service provider share for each completed and confirmed lesson. Earnings are credited to the tutor's internal balance only after the lesson has been conducted and confirmed by the student.
- Payout Requests: Tutors may request a withdrawal of their available earnings balance at any time via the tutor dashboard. Payouts are processed within 3–5 business days and disbursed in USD via Wise to the tutor's designated bank account.
- Currency Conversion: Payouts are sent in USD. If the tutor's receiving bank account uses a different currency, Wise will apply their prevailing exchange rate. Tutamigo is not responsible for exchange rate fluctuations or bank-side conversion fees.
- Cancellation Impact: If a lesson is cancelled within the allowed window or refunded due to a dispute or Satisfaction Guarantee claim, the tutor will not receive earnings for that specific session.
- Chargebacks: In the event of a chargeback or payment dispute initiated by a student's bank, Tutamigo reserves the right to withhold or reclaim the associated funds from the tutor's pending or future earnings while the dispute is resolved.
Tutors are responsible for providing accurate bank account details. Tutamigo is not liable for misdirected payments resulting from incorrect information provided by the tutor.
